Biography

Craig C. Kemp
Altura Energy Ltd.
Houston, Texas

Mr. Kemp earned his B.S. in geological engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in 1974. Upon graduation, he joined Shell Oil Company as an engineer in its Production Department. He worked for Shell in Ventura and Bakersfield, CA as well as in Houston, TX until 1997 when he elected to join Altura Energy Ltd., a limited partnership of Amoco and Shell's West Texas oil & gas assets.

While with Shell, he gained experience as a production (operations) engineer, a geological engineer (development geologist), a geological supervisor, and a manager. The majority of his experience has been in development of supplemental recovery oil fie lds in California and West Texas. With Altura, he is a geological engineer working in a multidisplined group responsible for the development of new or improvements to existing supplemental recovery projects. Specifically, his role is to characterize the r eservoir for simulation input and look for development opportunities resulting in increased cash flow and economically recoverable reserves. To accomplish this, he works closely with a petrophysicist (well log analyst), a reservoir engineer, and a geophys icist, when 3D seismic data is available, in a team environment. Use of mapping, correlation, and cross section software is a must to allow for quick turn around and good documentation of projects.

Craig is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He is devoted to his wife Beverly, and his son, Steven, and believes it is important to always balance work responsibil ities with those of your family.
