James A. Gibbs

Mr. Gibbs received his B.S. degree (1957) and M.S. degree (1961) in geology from the University of Oklahoma. He is a consulting geologist and an independent oil and gas producer in Dallas, Texas. His career has included working as a geologist in the oil industry in California and Louisiana, and as a consulting geologist in Dallas. Since 1984, he has been President and CEO of Five States Energy Company, L.L.C. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and societies, including the Amer ican Institute of Professional Geologists, the Geological Society of America, the Houston Geological Society, the National Petroleum Council, and the Petroleum Engineers Club of Dallas. In addition, he has been president of the Dallas Geological Society a nd the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He has served as Chair of the Government Affairs Advisory Committee of the American Geological Institute.
